GMC's Jimmy, the brand's second-best seller,
was one of the first compact sport-utility vehicles
on the market when it was introduced in 1982.
While the name was initially shared with GMC's
full-size sport utility, in 1995 it was applied
exclusively to the compact vehicle when that
model received its first ground-up redesign. For
1998, the Jimmy gets a restyled front end, a new
rear fascia, and a redesigned instrument panel.
A number of upgrades can also be found throughout
the 1998 model.
