1979 Mercury Capri w/351W in Coquitlam, BC

$3,500

Seller note:

'79 Fox Capri, original 5.0L car with '94 5.8L roller cam longblock, Cobra 1.7 roller rockers, Stealth intake/1.12 Autolite 4100 carb and Hooker Super Comp ceramic headers Has the correct steel gear on Duraspark ignition system, ARP stainless intake and header bolts, Aeroquip fuel plumbing and Holley Blue pump/regulator. It all looked good inside, has a factory double roller timing chain. Stock E7 heads never removed, has about 43K miles on it, I have a better style stock swap oil pan for it.

C-4 with TCI Breakaway 2500-stall converter, billet servo, semi-auto shift kit, B&M deep pan and cooler, new seal and gaskets, good stock internals. Works perfectly.

Exhaust has Hooker ceramic off-road H-pipe and new Flowmaster LX 50-series system. Also comes with ceramic header reducers with O2 bungs.

Chassis has subframe connectors welded through the floor and tied to the sills and an 8-point bar, Mission tech said good to 10.50's if I remember, 100% stiffer than stock!

Bodywork was prepped for paint at one time, has SVO mustang body parts and interior bits. '94 GT power buckets, power windows, locks, hatch, lights and heater work.

Everything except the front control arms have poly bushings and mounts, new Falken Ziex-912 tires 205 fronts and 225 rears on 10-holes with correct Merc center caps.

Stuff that has to go: 7.5" open rear and control arms with solid poly bushings-rear end is toast, contol arms make it ride like a hay wagon. Stock '79 brakes are weak, rears are shot. The K-member is supposed to be a '93, seems to have moved the motor forward 1". A trans with 4 or more gears maybe depending on the rear ratio. On the upside all that should be replaced anyway even if it was perfect, from a "87-'93 GT or all aftermarket. Some of the work I did 2 days ago, some 2 years ago and some 20, some of it's overkill and some is ho-made, like any hot rod. Throw some paint and an 8.8 at it and call it good or strip it down and hang all the goodies on it for drag racing.

I have some other parts for it and can tell you everything about it, it's a running car but isn't insured for the road, slightly failed Aircare a few years ago with a Holley 750.
