148,300 km, but only ~32,000km on NEW engine. Replaced in Feb 2012 for ~$8,000 (work done by Budd's Mini/BMW) - have paperwork around diagnosis. Issue occurred after warranty expired so all out-of-pocket for me. You'll be driving with a like new engine - working great!

Beyond the new engine, also ~$5,000 spent on:
- replaced the timing chain at 88,000 km - Feb 2011
